A lot of people are skeptical when it comes to the nature of animated beauty, or in other words, animated (computer CG or cel) women who are drawn to represent the beauty of real life women. Its not a rare thing, certainly not unique to Anime. Look at any modern American Comic and you'll see that just about every female hero has a very "unlikely proportioned" body. Even Disney has done this. And, of course, there is the whole recent obsession with Aki Ross from the Final Fantasy movie. -----So what is my opinion? Personally, as long as you stray far from the "fall in love with a character and start to believe that they are a real life person" area, which is nothing short of obsession, then it is alright to admire animated women. Besides, some characters are just likeable, not just for quality of animation, but personality, or perhaps the skills or powers they possess in the show/comic/game/movie. This page is devoted to my favorite female characters in Anime, sort of a shrine to all of them. There is only a small section for each character, but in each you will find pictures and information.
