Scion of Drekis |
It has been two years since the war ended, and Khazan is beginning to return to normal. Cities that were once ravaged have been rebuilt, and a newly restored hope has destroyed the dark aura that haunted the nexus of all realities in the last years of Drekis' war. Day by day, the people remember those who lost their lives so that others could grasp peace, but also seeks to put the war behind them, to move on and experience the life so many died to protect to the fullest. But peace, on a world like Khazan, does not last for long. Though Drekis is gone, the remnants of his empire remain, and though considerably weaker now than they were in the war, they are led by Veronica Daemon, Atragon, Alexander Shadowcast, and new ruler of the Drekis legions: Jon "Darkenfire" Avalon. An incident in New Evangeles leads some to believe that Avalon may be planning a new conflict with the people of Khazan, and both SLJ and Fallen alike act quickly to insure that their enemies are crushed before they even get up. However, things change with the arrival of a mysterious young woman. A person unlike any other: a god among ants. She claims herself to be the bringer of justice, and the enemy of Drekis who has wronged the universe itself for his past actions. Her arrival is seen as a blessing by the people of Khazan, as this woman, who seems to possess all of the powers conceivable in Khazan, begins a systematic process of purging the Drekis legions not only from the Nexus, but from the Omniverse itself. But things deteriorate when the woman speaks of a dark prophecy. The return of both Timothy Sarachus and Drekis is imminent, and the rebirth of Drekis is made possible because of something that the chaos lord left in the very souls and spirits of Khazan's people. To protect the universe, to insure that Drekis never wrongs a living soul in any galaxy, anywhere, the woman announces that the people of Khazan must die! The Heroes of Khazan now have a choice to make. Will they allow Drekis to be reborn and escape into the vastness of space to destroy countless lives, or will they allow the very people they have always fought so hard to protect die in sacrifice? But the decision, though clear for the morally conscious mind, is a hard one, for to protect the lives of Khazan will mean facing an opponent more powerful than any they have ever known. |
